Nothing To Lose.

For quite some time we were shy about sharing early versions of songs still in development. Last few weeks we shared several audio clips of the kind and the takeaway is - nothing's changed. The reach and impact of our posts does very little to shift the Earth. The good news is we're still in a riskless environment. But do have to work on the reach part of our work. One component will be a report we're waiting on from the consultants we mentioned before. Should be arriving anytime now. It may help us alter our strategy somewhat with a singular goal in mind - getting our music into as many ears and heads as possible. Not much we can lose, apart from time - but what a good time it is, hence no worries.

Four demos are all but ready to be shipped to the producer for review. The next-up songs are waiting, it's encouraging having songs lining up for attention. Given that we had to rebuild the entire process from scratch in the past months, it seems like we've stumbled upon a working formula. With some luck, we may be able to cut the time to produce our next album in half. But, as mentioned above, we won't be shy in sharing content and releasing songs before the entire album is ready and packaged. Makes little sense nowadays. We still believe in the album as a testament to a band's era and a carefully packaged gift for the interested listener. This shouldn't stop us from releasing singles or EPs.

In the kitchen, we got the set list for the gig season all but figured out. A full version, probably around 90min. For shorter gigs will pick and choose depending on the audience, but we'll probably want to gain some experience playing the newer songs. It will keep things interesting for us, as well. The next gigs are in Blago on April 18th (AUBG campus, Blagoevgrad) and April 29th (Stroeja, Sofia). Neither date has been formally announced, but this is a safe place. Meanwhile, Ali will be singing a few songs this Friday (March 13th) at the 10th anniversary of our good friends from Hellion Stone. That will be happening in Mixtape, Sofia. Do join us for the celebration!

Oh, we're also back at №1 on ZRock, but this will probably change come Thursday, the update day. Still, thank you to whoever is helping keep it afloat on the charts! Odd Crew, Bulgaria's biggest name of the generation, are on a hiatus. They've been playing together since they were kids, so it's not news one enjoys hearing, but as long as everyone's healthy - there's nothing to regret. While we hope they'll be back in a not too distant future, it inevitably pushes thoughts on what ALI's future may look like. We have no intention of taking any breaks, but things happen - which only makes one re-appreciate what they've got, because you never know. Fingers crossed for Odd Crew and their fans!

Gogo, the producer, was the guest at one of the longest running (if not the longest running) music-focused shows on national TV - "My Playlist". You can check his pick of Top 10 songs of all time (whatever criteria he chooses) here

In technical news, guitars are being fixed up by Misho and Emil. Drivers and plugins are getting installed. And re-installed. Kalo (can't get rid of him) switched to a Mac and has been moonlighting at the studio building bridges between legacy hardware and state-of-the-art IT infrastructure. Now he sounds about ready to start working on Happiness' release. The latest Thomann order is out, mostly focused on maintenance gear, but also equipping Milenski for his stage debut with ALI. There's a bit of buyer's remorse in getting a MIDI keyboard instead of a synth for the "home studio" setup, but it's a split decision. The lost bag of extension cords has now been written off and replaced with new ones. Two major tips for extension cords: no on/off buttons and grey/black only. No joke. The click tracks and beds for old songs and new have been updated. We're upping the tempo somewhat.

We still haven't received our first comment here - not sure if you knew it was possible? Drop a note, send a question, troll us - go crazy.
